By 2030, there will be more than 40 billion connected devices worldwide. That's the forecast from Statista and IoT Analytics. Some estimates even reach 50 billion or more. The growth comes mainly from industrial sensors and connected cars, not smartphones. For comparison: in 2025, there were around 20 billion, and in 2015, just 4 billion.
