The Viking Age lasted around 300 years, from about 793 to 1066. It started with the raid on Lindisfarne monastery in England. It ended with the Battle of Hastings. During this time the Vikings sailed as far as North America, Russia and even Baghdad. They were not just raiders but also traders.
