How many years did the Thirty Years' War last?

30 years

Background

The Thirty Years' War was called that because it really lasted 30 years, from 1618 to 1648. Unlike the Hundred Years' War, the number here is exactly right. In Central Europe about a third of all people died. Whole regions were empty afterward. The war ended with the Peace of Westphalia.
