Background

The famous opera house sits right at the harbor of Sydney in Australia. Danish architect Jorn Utzon designed the roof to look like sails or orange peels. Over one million white ceramic tiles cover the roof. Construction took 14 years and cost ten times more than planned. Today over 1,800 events take place there every year.
