How many color receptors does a mantis shrimp eye have?
16
Background
The mantis shrimp has 16 color receptors in its eye. A human has only three. This lets it see colors we cannot imagine. Still, it does not tell colors apart better than us. The eye can also see polarized light, something humans cannot do.
